I love adding couple’s honeymoon photos to their wedding film. To me it completes the whole circle. Seeing the couple, as with Cheryl and Gregor, with their choice of music, relaxed after the tensions of their wedding day, is a real delight as their film maker. I also love their (Cheryl’s) choice of song. I was also stunned by the number of outfits Cheryl managed to wear, especially bikini tops. So cool.
On a sunny September day, we were at Weybridge Register Office and Holloway University to film the wedding of Cheryl and Gregor. The Register Office made for a good ceremony location, with nice gardens for some photographs, courtesy of Donna Giddings. Holloway University is an imposing Victorian building with a huge quadrangle, which made for a great space for the guests to mingle and for some more photography. The huge dining hall was a great space for the speaches, and great to film in, offering lots of good quality light.
It is really nice to film at weddings of people who are getting married either later in life or for the second time, as was the case with Virginia and Peter. Their civil ceremony was held on one of sunny with showers Thursdays during the summer at Oaks Farm near Croydon in Surrey. This didn’t stop it from being a lovely and very special occasion.
Back in August this year (on my birthday) we travelled the short 15 miles to Turners Hill in West Sussex to capture the wedding day of Emma and David at the splendid and luxurious Alexander House Hotel & Spa. From the sumptuous drawing room where the wedding ceremony was held to the glorious gardens which hosted the drinks reception on a lovely sunny day, the Alexander did Emma and David proud. Speaking of proud, Emma was very proud of David, who, turned out in his Army dress uniform, looked handsome and dashing. David, in turn, was bowled over when he saw just how beautiful is bride Emma looked. In all theirs’ was a beautiful day to have been a part of.
Vanisha & Ashwin’s choice of venue, Tewin Bury Farm, was inspired. The venue provided more than sufficient space for an outdoor wedding with a civil ceremony and a Hindu ceremony with dining and dancing space for 200 guests without the need to reset rooms.
Vanisha & Ashwin and their families were great fun to work with, and the whole day and evening was just perfect. The Hindu ceremony was the highlight for us, providing so much colour and depth that anyone with three cameras would had a field day, which we did.
The full edit of Jenna & Simon’s Wedding Day has now been completed. It was such a pleasure to create their wedding video. Not only is Brighton & Hove a great place to film, being such an iconic city and, Brighton’s regency Royal Pavilion is one of the most beautiful venue’s for a civil ceremony, the venue for Jenna & Simon’s wedding was less than 10 miles from home for me and my assistant camera person. Most of all, Jenna and Simon are such lovely people to be around for the day. Somewhere approaching 200 people gathered to celebrate their special day. Jenna’s dress was unique and a real wow – Jenna looked fantastic. By all accounts, Simon is a special guy, and looked great in his Black chalk-stripe suit. Of course, most weddings end with a party, but this was one apart when the evening guests arrived enmass – it was like being transported to a club, one that played great music. This was a great wedding to film, and to have been a part of.
Remember the end of May Bank Holiday? Just the perfect weather for a wedding at Chobham Golf Club and Painshill Park in Surrey. That’s where we were, filming for Nicky & Will’s wedding video. And it was a fantastic day. It would be fair to say that I’ve videoed a few nervous brides and grooms over the years, and Will was no exception, but Nicky broke new ground, telling her driver that she wanted to text her “I Do” rather than appear in person and refusing (firmly) to be filmed or photographed when she arrived in her stretch limo. As soon as she was married, she was back to being the lovely smiling woman I had met a week earlier.
Carly Farnsworth Wedding Video Feedback Review
John,
So sorry it’s taken so long to email you since our wedding day. I want you to include the following on your website in the testimonials section.
I decided to surprise my husband to be with a professional videographer for our wedding day. We had long discussions and my view of a professional wedding video was that they were cheesy and I didn’t like the idea of having someone filming me all day. Then I found John Peters. From the initial telephone call I knew Id found my man!
John met with my parents and me in secret at our wedding venue a few weeks before the wedding. The 3 of us came away thinking what a nice man he was, and talked about how tall he was! John put all my worries about an “in your face” camera man at ease when I saw how gentle, and unobtrusive he was.
The day of the wedding came and my husband was thrilled when he noticed the very tall man filming as he arrived. John had made himself acquainted with my photographer and I could see that they were working really well together and just knew I was going to be thrilled with the results.
I didn’t notice John at all on the day, and was actually shocked when I looked round to see him still filming the awful dancing that was going on!
The dvd came and I cant tell you how impressed and pleased I was. No cheesiness, no awful music and no frosty images! My husband (also a John) and I got married in May and I got the DVD out last night (6 months after being married), to cheer myself up! It’s something I know I will watch time and time again, and with a baby on the way I can’t wait show my children.
John, you’re a star. You made the day complete and made my husband very happy!
Thanks,
Carly Farnsworth
